The Cellar Bar
Downstairs @ Pink Punters
2 Watling Street
Fenny Stratford
Milton Keynes
MK2 2BT
On Friday 17th September 2004, Milton Keynes will have a brand new hard dance night… KIX! Taking place at The Cellar Bar (downstairs @ Pink Punters, Fenny Stratford), Kix aims to bring some of the country’s biggest Hard House and Hard Trance DJs to Milton Keynes, something that no other hard dance event in Milton Keynes has done, at least not for a very long time!
For the launch party, two of the very best young DJ acts on the hard scene join us. DJ GRH, aka Gary Holden, has firmly established himself as one of the biggest names in the North, making regular appearances at the mighty Goodgreef, as well as his own hugely successful Wednesday night event in Leeds, Sessions. He’s also equally well known on the London scene, having recently played nights such as Frantic, Riot, and Twist. Add this to his appearances at the infamous Tidy Weekenders, Tidy London, and accolades from Mixmag and 4clubbers.net, you have to agree Gary is one of the best established young DJs in the UK today, and we are delighted to welcome him to Kix for our launch.
Joining him will be the biggest success story of 2004, JP & Jukesy. These two have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame this year since they played a classic bounce set at Tidy Weekender 5, and were then asked at the last minute to stand in for the legendary Andy Farley at Tidy Summer Camp… both of those sets were widely considered to be the best sets of the respective events, and they have become known as ‘the people’s choice’. They have also enjoyed success with their own label, Deprivation Recordings, being responsible for some of the biggest harder tunes this year. No doubt they will cause carnage when they take to the Cellar Bar decks.
Appearing alongside them, monthly resident and local MK lad Steve James has also had a successful year, hailed as an exciting new talent by some of the top names on the scene, making appearances for nights organised by Tidy and Sundissential, and appearing at events alongside many of the biggest DJs! Having started his DJ career in the Cellar Bar, Steve is delighted to be returning there to deliver his uplifting Hard Trance and Hard House sounds once more.
Finishing off the line-up for September, James dB will be returning to the Cellar Bar, delivering his unique Hard Trance sound, and Mow makes his debut, with some solid, no-nonsense hard house!
The party starts at 9pm on Friday 17th September (and then on the third Friday of every month), and carries on until 4am… the latest finish in Milton Keynes! Admission is a mere £5 before 10:30pm, then £7 after. For further details, contact Steve on 07050 289938, or e-mail info@getyourkix.co.uk.
