http://www.harderfaster.net/images/uploads/thumb_cead354612804fa177e2011c85967e56.jpgOn Saturday, 28th April 2007, a new brand, “Shiva”, will be launched at the Canvas nightclub in London - giving house music lovers a truly tantalising line-up, a party atmosphere that takes some beating and, musically, the finest in funky, vocal, dirty and electro house. Shiva’s concept and philosophy is simple: to provide a constant stream of uplifting, feel-good and consistently high-energy house music to an upmarket, snazzy and cosmopolitan crowd - who are up for letting their hair down as soon as they come through the doors.
It’s no coincidence, then, that the definition of "Shiva" is Lord of the Dance...... The line-up:
In the best of the Funky/Vocal house room, Shiva have employed the services of some of the finest DJs and producers in house music to join their residents: Grant Nelson – a man who needs no introduction. Grant Nelson is a living house legend who is responsible for remixing numerous house classics of yesteryear, including more recently, “Bodyswerve”, under his M-Gee guise and last year's stompers "Fade" by Solu Music feat. Kimblee and "My Life" by Chanel. His forthcoming remix for fellow Shiva headliner, Nick Bridges', new single is set to do the same... The Soul Avengerz – the supreme purveyors of funky house. Their relentless pressings of consistently crowd-pleasing, peak-time stompers have delighted clubbers for the last 10 years. Huckleberry Finn – who, this year, is celebrating his 20th year behind the decks! A true stalwart of the profession. Headlining the Dirty/Electro room will be man-of-the-moment…
Nick Bridges - whose smash hit, “Yeah Yeah”, under his Bodyrox guise, found itself causing delirium throughout clubland. Nick's next hit, produced under his “Another Chance” moniker, is “Everytime I See Her”. A brilliant reworking of the house classic by Shades Of Rhythm – it’s tipped to be yet another screamer on the dancefloor! Joining Nick in the Dirty/Electro room, will be the Immaculate Boys, as well as the two head honchos of Plush Dafunk and Hot & Spicy, John Paul & Liam D. Both DJs having a reputation of playing the more driving and high-energy side of house and whose desire to see a dance floor going ballistic knows no boundaries! Expect to be swept up in a sea of smiling faces…
Expect to let your feet do the talking…
But, crucially, expect Shiva to show you why it truly is, the lord of the dance… The launch of Shiva at Canvas, London - Saturday, 28th April, 2007.
The party starts here…… http://www.harderfaster.net/images/uploads/thumb_0dc414f1993833c7de26ece72ad7b464.jpg TICKETS ON SALE NOW PRICED £12.

Spin Out returns to the Boileroom this month with a very special guest, Alex Shafunker, one half of underground house duo ‘The Shafunkers’. Alex started his DJ career in 1995 behind the decks at bars, clubs and free parties in Surrey, South East and London, with forays into promoting and Djing culminating in him co-running Planet Sabatical, one of Manchesters premier house nights between 1997-2001. While bringing DJs such as Tyrant, Steve Lawler, Terry Farley and Yousef to Manchester Alex was developing and honing his DJ skills whilst being the resident DJ.
As Shafunkers (with Austin Moore), Alex has released over 25 original tracks and almost as many remixes on labels including Premier Sounds, Choo Choo, Fluid, Progress Inn and more recently Saved Records, Fantastic House, Cr2, Sr2 Music etc. Forthcoming releases are due on Sr2 music, Deeper Substance, Spin Out Records, Cr2 Records, Strawberry Blonde, VapouRise. Shafunkers tunes are regularly supported by Pete Tong, Nic Fanciulli, Desyn Masiello, Lee Burridge, john Digweed, Demi, Mark Knight, Lee cabrera, Ricky Ryan and more.
Alex is now working on several solo projects and his first 2 tracks entitled Disco Chick and Moogment have been signed to the legendary SR2 label based in New York. These 2 tracks have already received support from Lee Cabrera, Mark Knight, Demi, Luca Elle, Osgar G amongst others. Moogment has been licensed to Steve Lawlers Lights Out 3 Compilation.
Joining Alex on the decks will be Spin Out resident’s Si McEvoy and the Digital Punks. Si is currently hard at work on an original track for Spin Out, having seen his remixes of Rich Dinsdale’s ‘She Wants Me’ and Swain & Paris’s ‘Come As One’ get received to great reviews. He also continues to run Spin Out’s events here at the Boileroom and also at Herbal in Shoreditch. The Digital Punks are the latest addition to the Spin Out residents rosta, having been instrumental in helping out with Spin Out @ The Boileroom from the start. They also promote and DJ at Turnmills every month for Smartie Partie and have played for The Gallery night there too.
As always doors open from 21:00 to 23:00, but the bar keeps going until 2:00am so get yourselves down early to avoid disappointment. Entry is only £6 so there is no excuse not to come down for another great night of quality music.
