Evolution returns to Koko - the legendary venue where the HeatUK’s classics concept was born! Evolution is the classics night with a difference, where each DJ on the line-up picks their biggest anthems from a specific year - guaranteed musical progression and no repetition of music! This time Evolution goes even further back than before starting in 1995 and finishing in 2001.

The running order starts with Marc French playing gone-but-not-forgotten vinyl gems from 10 years ago when he held his residency at the legendary Club UK (1995). The tempo quickly steps up a gear with Pete Wardman paying tribute to his 1996 Trade residency. Spencer Freeland, the original Frantic resident then takes over playing favourites from the year the hard dance explosion began in 1997.

HeatUK resident Ian Betts revisits the golden year of trance with unforgettable 1998 tracks like Steve Morley’s ‘Reincarnations’ and Paul Van Dyk’s immortal ‘Binary Finary’. The Organ Donors make their debut with an exclusive live decks and FX set reworking classics from 1999, followed by Hard Dance pioneering duo Billy ‘Daniel’ Bunter and Jon Doe digging through their box marked ‘2000’.

Finally, Hard Dance deity BK will take us back to 2001 when he was the hottest new talent on the block, churning out anthem after anthem week in week out. BK is responsible for more hard dance productions than any other DJ in the world today. What better way to finish a trip down memory lane?

The second room of Koko at Evolution is all about the next generation of producers and is spearheaded by the prodigious Technikal (AKA Alf Bamford) who at the tender age of only 19 has already had over 35 records released!

Evolution - The Khemikal Imbalance is an unmissable chance to relive some of the finest years that the harder side of dance music has ever witnessed. And with a line-up this good, it will be even better than the first time round!
