Help! When I am using the sequencer or pads on the sytrus addon for FL, I place say 1 block on the grid where all the other riffs are, and the the sequencer keeps on going after the block has finished until the end of the track! How do I get it to stop at the end of the block I have placed down??? (I hope this makes sense to anyone out there). Any suggestions???

Hey everyone! With the hard dance scene taking many directions now, I would like to know what you prefer. Do you prefer the bouncy style hard house or the more techy sounds? Living where I do, I have become a little bored of relentless beats and not enough melody and uplift. To go out and see DJs like Adam Beyer, Rush, Chris Liebing, Monika Kruse and loads of others has become a little monotonous for me. They are great DJs for sure, but the beats are a bit samey sometimes now. I have visited the Uk many times over the past year or so, searching for the uplift and crescendos that Hard House does so well. I'm a little concerned that with the more techy directi…

The effervescent UK hard dance scene has seen many changes over the last few months. Different sub-genres of the overall genre have grown out of nowhere and many have continued to flourish. One predominant factor seems to be a key issue within these sweeping changes though – and that is the level of intelligence and forward thinking injected into the scene. With this in mind, take time to witness the birth of ‘Shroom Recordings’. With overall control of the label (and as its owner and head of A&R), Sam Townend’s ethos behind the label is one that firmly follows the ‘forward thinking’ nature of the scene. On the commencement of the label, Sam commen…

From their website "...FinalScratch 2. This complete package lets you play digital music files from any analog turntable or CD player..." from A.N. Other msg board (posts not from me)... **** Originally posted by Dj Spiel >Man, I am still confused. WHat does Finalscratch really do? > >It let's you mix on a Computer? With mp3's? It lets you mix digital files (MP3, WAVs, AIFFs etc) using turntables. You get special vinyls with it when you buy which makes it possible for finalscratch to determine where on the vinyl you're playing and hence play MP3s just as you would play vinyl. Anything you can do with vinyl you should be…

It's bloody expensive but I'm giving some serious thought to buying one of these. My old mixer is playing up a bit, and besides I've fancied moving up to a 3- or 4-channel mixer for a while now. The specs all look great on paper (4 channels, aux sends, assignable crossfader -- basically everything I'm looking for) and I've read that the build quality is excellent. Plus the filters are a bonus. My only gripe at this stage is a superficial one -- it could look a bit cooler! Any comments? Has anybody used one before? Can anybody suggest a cheaper alternative with similar specs? The other main contender was the Ecler SMAC Pro 40 -- fewer bells and whistles but highly reputab…

Hi everyone. At Afterlife we have currently had to stop accepting demo's due to the ridiculous waiting list we have for sets. (currently 1-2 years) This however means that we miss out on some of the new talent that's out there and we don't think that's fair. We've always tried to give as many talented unknown DJs the chance to play out as possible, So we've come up with a way of you jumping the queue and getting yourself the chance to play at the world famous Mass club in Brixton! Each month, the DJ who submits the best demo will get the chance to come and perform that demo at Afterlife in the live room! The Mass sound system is the kind of setup that many DJs…

Dave Clarke Press release: The Move from Vinyl to CD After some time (I wanted to move to CD in 1997) I have finally got a machine that i believe is sonically and technically up to the job of replacing the hallowed and much loved 1210. I was originally asked to demo the Technics CD deck in New York at the beginning of the year but i didn't have the space in my calendar, however after finally getting my hands on one I have concluded that I will now switch over to cd's in the short term, this will take some time and allow me to road test the machine in clubs. Initially I will bring my own, but would appreciate any promoters that read this and have budget to either…

can't even load up the main desktop anymore. basically i've been told by the helpline to take it back and exchange it for a new one. so being me, i didn't back up any files (which i can't even access now), so i've lost the last 4 weeks work on it. all my samples i'd cut from tunes and vinyl (spent hours doing that too) was just starting to get somewhere with my first tune attempt too (30 hours work went into that) what a bastard hey
