Since Ian showed me how to work a midi vsti , when ever i make a rift and fill a pattern, this seems to blow the CPU through the roof. At times i was running 54 patterns at once and tyhe cpu didn't ever go past 4 or 5. but with just once midi channel running it takes it over 80 and fruity sometimes overloads and the sound jumps/skips.......help i was thinking to copy this mid i channel as a wav and re load it back in, would this solve the problem, as i haven't tried it yet. i hope so as looks like i can only run 1 midi channel per track at the moment

Eek - wasnt really sure where to post this as this guy isnt a member ... My flatmate D@ Pander has had 2 of these mixes going this morning from this site - SUPERB, probably some of the best Funky House I've heard for a while; (since Garlands) http://www.thehyperintelligentslug.co.uk/main.shtml Tell you what though I'm well confused on the legal status of all these, my mate is going to put all his mix CDs online as well and now I'm wondering if we should just say 'fook it' and do it here as well ????

  6. a little birdy tells me that CTW is now working for Frantic. If this brings extra exposure to the site then it sounds like a bloody good idea (although it would be nice to see a greater push in non-hardhouse directions, but thats as much my fault as anyone elses) basically because of this i am informed that there are some things we can not say about some DJs. Just so i'm clear on the matter, what can we say w/o getting are wrists slapped?

I was recommended to use this for creating loops by a dj, as he said it's very easy to get going on. which sounded great for me as i've only just started to look at production. When looking at it for the first time it seems identical to "sonic foundry (video vegas)", which is great for me as i know how to use video vegas quiet well. does anyone know what the differences are between the 2 thou, other than not being able to edit video in acid pro. cheers

  11. the djm707 and djm 909 had a play with the 909 on sunday and it is amazing the curve for the cross fader is changeable for each side meaning you can customise it to your hearts content for scratching etc it also has a touch screen effects unit that you use the normal channel faders to control after selecting it its been designed with the scratch perverts as well not used or seen the 707 except in pictures, but it is bascially the same without all the extra features like the FX unit

  14. I'm thinking of getting one of these Pioneer CDJs. There's quite a big price hike from the 800 to the 1000, but I'm not convinced I need all the extra features. I'm not bothered about about looping, digital outputs, memory cards etc... I tried out both models in a shop last night and was very pleasantly surprised by how similar it is to manipulating vinyl. I read somewhere that the 800 is not so good for scratching, is this true? They both had a very similar feel to me. I know I'm a bit behind the times here, but having finally got round to trying out these CDJs with the scratch jog wheels, I'm blown away by how easy it is to cue up the tracks, and how fun the interface…

  18. a few basic questions (forgive me if its confusing, i dont know the jargon so i've stumbled though with what jargon i do know): 1) i have an 8 beat patten and i want it 1 set of fx on it in the 1st few loops, then another set of fx for another few loops. is it possible to do this w/o having to duplicate the patten each time i want a different filter on it. i've looked to see if you can set one off fx sends at set time frames, but nothing jumped out at me. 2) i want to post the higher frequences on samples. is there some kind of fx plug in that i can use? i'm guessing what i need is a 'hi-pass filter'? 3) can i set pattens to fade in/out easily? basical…

Just been reading the latest one with Justin Bourne, who is a wicked DJ I might add ! Just wana say ALL the interviews you have done so far are top stuff mate, and is looking good for and on the site. If you need any extra help / questions to be added for any interviews, I would love to participate and help rack some up depending on what DJ it is ! I am a bit gutted Glazby refused to take the time to take part though But anyway - good work as always mate. And all the best for showing your talent in Poland. Show 'em how it's done !

The new website will be up soon so I've been busy sorting things out for that aswell. CTW - Your label Short Circuit is going from strength to strength, can you tell us a bit about it?
