Ok, I installed Cubase SX yesterday and decided to have a mess around with it today but I cant get any sound out of it and it seems like it isnt picking my sound card up as I get error messages saying 'the audio engine could not be started' and 'no sound input' Does anyone else use Cubase SX at all and could maybe help me out??

Haven't been this impressed by a DJ in a long time. This man is a [censored] legend. People go on about Halliwell jumping up and down and getting the crowd going, this man was jumping around in front of his decks, practically in the crowd, smashing records and had every single person in Slinky going mental. His mixing was spot on, technically and musically he wiped the floor with Halliwell who was on b4 him. If you get the chance, go and see him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, i notice this comin up over and over again in this forum between fruity users and cubase/logic users usually.. here's where u can battle it out.. put each other right and generally argue out ur opinions on sequencers!! Also does anyone think the difference in performance/ability in cubase/logic is enough to justify the difference in price?? On ur marks, get set.. GO!!

whats everyones view on this. Seems like DJ sets are getting shorter and shorter these days. I personally think the whole idea of a set was to take you on a journey. hard to do really in an hour isn't it?

Before I start, i dont want this post to degrade into Genre debating, my decks are better than yours, i can piss highest kinda thing. Heres my question. I hear what you're sayin about the different sequencers to use and to a degree, you're right - no matter which base you use, you're still gonna rely upon 3rd party vst's to do the talkin ! - There are v e r y few sounds/vsts/samples which I use which were supplied by the sequencer vendor - Native Instruments are one of the best and, most used by me - Absynth is gorgeous. However, having now fully immersed myself in the land of FL4.2 (Was 3.56) I am pleased to say I shall never need look at another sequencing package again. Indeed, what can be done in other software sequencers that can't be done in FL Studio ? - NOTHIN!

I've been writing tracks since the age of 16 (I'm now 30) and Fruity Loops has been the most trance/dance friendly sounding bit of kit I've ever used. Once you start plugging decent vst instruments into it, hook up a midi keyboard and add your own samples, you really can create whatever type of track you like. Acid Pro3 is great but, has little or no midi support - bit "clicky" with vst's too. Acid Pro4 has full midi support and looks great but, I've not had time to evaluate it yet - can#t therefore comment. Cubase / Making Waves Pro are others that spring to mind but, for our sort of music, Fruity Loops is the bollox. Btw - Fruity Loops is now re-rele…

Im tempted to get the KC as it has 61 keys as apose to 32 - i can't play nothing on small synths my alternative option is to get the Access Virus C 'Desktop' version

Ez... this is my second thread. Just to let those that are interested know about my promotions team total eclipse. We started in jan of this year. And our music policy is 100% ruff and ready drum and bass with a bit of old skool flava thrown into the mix. We support up and coming new talent (djs and mcs) and as Raiden launched his record label offkey recordings from our night we support new producers in the scene as well. Any tapes mix cds any [censored] like that were happy to listen to, and consider for future events. the line up for our next event which due to us not being able to get the venue in portsmouth until march, (long i know but thats the way it goes som…
