  1. Started by goshow,

I'm thinking about selling my decks and mixer, if i get the right price. i never get to use them and i've got 2 sets,so i'm selling one of em. If your interested let me know. 2 x Technics 1210 MK5's with Stanton discmaster 2 carts. (mint, used for aprox 10hrs bedroom dj'ing, still have all packaging.) 1 x Vestax PCV275 mixer (mint, as per above) 1 x Technics RPDJ1210 headphones (mint) all the above is absolutely immaculate showroom condition. Brand new this would cost over £1300. Make me an offer including p&p.

too poor to buy decks but would like to [censored] around with the music i got anyway... can anyone recommend a good mp3 mixer? i'm using this atomic thing atm that does one-click beat matching which is fooking heavy. but its only a trial version, and you can only do one thing at a time - i.e. you can't turn down the bass and crossfade together. but auto beat-matching makes the whole thing easy-peasy. your thoughts...

...had a bit of a 'discussion' on the tidy forums about djs who charge silly money for playing other peoples records - what does everyone think on the subject?? Personally, I think its [censored] outrageous how somebody can dj (quite often a VERY average set) for 1-2hours and get away with charging £thousands for their 'services'..... Unfortunately, nobody seemed to agree with me, although on the other hand, nobody actually gave a proper reason why.... It just seems that djs are getting greedy, and in turn, this cost is being passed onto the clubber....

since installing a new cd burner in our pc, i seem to have a problem burning cd's. They copy fine but once completed using video vegas they won't eject. They only way around this is to turn the pc off and eject them once pc starts up again. It used to work fine with the old burner, and still ejects using other programs, just not video vegas. Any suggestion????

Ok, I installed Cubase SX yesterday and decided to have a mess around with it today but I cant get any sound out of it and it seems like it isnt picking my sound card up as I get error messages saying 'the audio engine could not be started' and 'no sound input' Does anyone else use Cubase SX at all and could maybe help me out??

Haven't been this impressed by a DJ in a long time. This man is a [censored] legend. People go on about Halliwell jumping up and down and getting the crowd going, this man was jumping around in front of his decks, practically in the crowd, smashing records and had every single person in Slinky going mental. His mixing was spot on, technically and musically he wiped the floor with Halliwell who was on b4 him. If you get the chance, go and see him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, i notice this comin up over and over again in this forum between fruity users and cubase/logic users usually.. here's where u can battle it out.. put each other right and generally argue out ur opinions on sequencers!! Also does anyone think the difference in performance/ability in cubase/logic is enough to justify the difference in price?? On ur marks, get set.. GO!!

whats everyones view on this. Seems like DJ sets are getting shorter and shorter these days. I personally think the whole idea of a set was to take you on a journey. hard to do really in an hour isn't it?

  29. Started by Digital Liquid,

I hear what you're sayin about the different sequencers to use and to a degree, you're right - no matter which base you use, you're still gonna rely upon 3rd party vst's to do the talkin ! - There are v e r y few sounds/vsts/samples which I use which were supplied by the sequencer vendor - Native Instruments are one of the best and, most used by me - Absynth is gorgeous. However, having now fully immersed myself in the land of FL4.2 (Was 3.56) I am pleased to say I shall never need look at another sequencing package again. Indeed, what can be done in other software sequencers that can't be done in FL Studio ? - NOTHIN!

  30. Started by Digital Liquid,

I've been writing tracks since the age of 16 (I'm now 30) and Fruity Loops has been the most trance/dance friendly sounding bit of kit I've ever used. Once you start plugging decent vst instruments into it, hook up a midi keyboard and add your own samples, you really can create whatever type of track you like. Acid Pro3 is great but, has little or no midi support - bit "clicky" with vst's too. Acid Pro4 has full midi support and looks great but, I've not had time to evaluate it yet - can#t therefore comment. Cubase / Making Waves Pro are others that spring to mind but, for our sort of music, Fruity Loops is the bollox. Btw - Fruity Loops is now re-rele…
