One more problem I have been getting......Wonder if anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening.... I've only just finished my mix-cd but that's only cos I have borrowed my mates CD writer and recorded from my hi-fi directly onto that, and then opened it up in Soundforge. When I was trying to record it directly onto Soundforge, I would finish my mix and go back to listen to it...At random points in the mix, there would be some strange noises come in...Kinda like if u had a cd playing and it skipped There didn't seem to be any pattern as to when this happened. I use the booth monitor output on the mixer (DJM600) and plug it into my soundcard and adjust the …

Hello Wonder if anyone can help me ... Am wondering what program does everyone use to split their mix into individual tracks after recording it? I have got Soundforge6.0, but I can't for the life of me figure it out......I put the markers in, but it's what to do after that which confuses me. If need be, can download another program to split the tracks (MOD - would have downloaded that program u said but don't have Kazaa and can't find it elsewhere). Joe

Does anyone know any sites where you can actually download samples from well known tunes to remix, or do peeps normally take the samples themselves ?

Was thinking about the things clubs to to shake things up a bit, like b2b's and getting djs to play a differnet genre to normal, like passion has been recently and I had a thought. Has a club ever got Djs to swap boxes with someone else? I don't think it'd work too well across genres (can't imagine glazby playing funky etc) but within HH I think it'd work well. Opinions? And before any one else says it: Yes it would be could to see what Lashes could do if she played with Savages box.

Give details of producers and tracks that epitomize ur sound at the moment Mine is a blend of andy farley, nick sentience, paul maddox and phil reynolds. Riffs i'm big into at the moment are things like 'Paul Maddox - Revolution', 'Miss Behavin - such a good feelin (Barely Legal mix)', 'Andy Farley & Nick Sentience - checkmate' Also still love my hard trance but not the airy fairy stuff.

does anyone percieve a real difference between these two mp3 bitrates? i can tell the diff between Cd and mp3 (not hard to) - cd sounds a bit clearer and sharper with "tingly" top frequencies (but i believe that's to do with the 44khz sampling, not the bitrate?), doesn't the higher bitrate just make it sound a bit "smoother" and more "polished"? doing a soulseek search....most pop songs seem to be encoded at 128kbps, while new dance tracks seemt o be 192.

not sure if any of you have seen this before - i've only come across it tonight. Open Labs announced that shipment of the neKo is scheduled for February 16, 2004. The neKo combines the power and flexibility of personal computers with the real-world playability of traditional electronic keyboards, allowing musicians the ability to use virtual instruments and effects plug-ins in a studio or live performance setting. The release and shipment of the neKo marks over a year of intense research and development by Open Labs. In addition to the mechanical and electronic design of the neKo, great care was taken to optimize the performance of the W…

been chatting to a big DJ as i've asked him about compression used in club sound systems and would it effect mixes. He said that yeah compression always affects your set. all i can say is if you don't know the fundamentals of compression then dont let it worry you. my BIG advice is dont push the gains. keep everything at the right levels. monitors the gains well, before you bring each record in. Does anyone know anything about the fundamentals of compression mixing?????????

I'm looking for a new soundcard. Slick simultaneous multi-track recording / playback is the top priority. * rack-mountable (1 or 2U) * at least 8 analogue ins and 8 outs (pref balanced) * plus digital in (SPDIF) * preferably Firewire (or USB2) * 2+ MIDI interfaces would be a bonus, otherwise I'll have to get a separate MIDI interface as well Here are the ones I've considered so far: Hercules FW 16/12 ~£350 the most promising candidate so far but it doesn't come out until end of February! Arse! M-Audio Delta 10/10 ~£450 fair all-rounder, but I've heard bad things about their Windows XP drivers, plus the above should deliver more for less dosh MOT…

2003 was an awesome clubbing year for me and I'd be interested to hear what other people's fave sets of the year were. Here are mine... 1. Luke Neville - Serious @ Cross - 20.09.03 The departure of the King and didnt we know it. This set was absolute perfection. You could see that he had put months of thought into his track selection and the crowd adored him for it. 2. Eddie Halliwell - Gatecrasher @ Heaven - 30.05.03 Eddie completely blew me and those around me away. He was awesome and it was the most energetic, up for it DJ performance I had ever witnessed.
