Maybe I'm a little old-fashioned, but sometimes it gets to me when people fail to show basic manners ... not least of which when I'm a paying customer. Generally it takes nil effort to be polite and courteous so I think there's no excuse for making somebody else's day that bit shitter just because you think you're above being good-mannered. A few recent examples: Shopkeepers who fail to acknowledge your presence - e.g. some cow today who didn't even look at me, and scanned all my items while continuing her conversation with the mate. All she had to say was "hi there" and make eye contact but no, her conversation was obviously more important. (Maybe she wanted to…
