CTW News, Comments & Suggestions

Hi, I've just re-installed the old Calendar we used to have as its just been upgraded and its much better now. If anyone has a few hours spare a week to help us add new events please let me know. We're not after people who can do a few weeks and then get bored of it - we're after people who are interested in doing this on-going and who can possibly help out in other areas. What will be required is to add the events in Event Suggestions to the Calendar so that we can all benefit from seeing a one-shot view of whats on. Thanks to Lisa (Miss Diddy) for messaging me. Luckily we didnt have a case of another hacker - the reason the forum went missing is because there is an un-resolved bug in the software - if the most recent post in a forum is deleted it cant be down on the forum summary page and actually stops the entire forum appearing ! Kev - best thing to do is add a dummy post for now and ensure you dont delete that one.

Added another one - ClubTheWorld AnotherBlue - yes ANOTHER blue style - blue is where its at these days lol credit to ThreadsDev as I nicked it from there ! Its a bit more formal and nice to use when at work, although not as sly as the 'plain' version. I quite like the dots around the borders as well Got to your profile and change your display settings.

James, Not sure if you know about this minor issue. Say you want to insert a link to a website where the URL includes some escaped characters. E.g. if I do a google search for "LiquidEyes is a pedantic git" the resulting URL is "[/b]LiquidEyes+is+a+pedantic+git"]http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q="LiquidEyes+is+a+pedantic+git" (not the inverted commas are changed into the escape sequence ") Now if I cut and paste that as a URL inside my post, the link works fine on the "preview" screen, but once I submit the post the link gets cocked up! cud u put links at the bottom of the page in posts for the forum its from and the forum list page?? Its just irritating having to scroll up to the top each time i want to go back. i had nother suggestion but cant remember now. Will post when i remember

to this site?...i havent posted for a while but iv been reading the threads,and i was wondering wats gone wrong? it seems to me that the site has gone realy clicky (with the exception of a certain few) and some people can take a joke way to far, and pick people out to make them look silly! there is nothing wrong with a bit of banter between fellow clubbers...but wats happened to the respect to each other and this site... dont get me wrong i realy like the peeps iv met off here and i hope i havent offened anyone!..

Was just thinking, head hurts now tho!! . Was wondering if it would be possible in the music forum to have a music genre section, so to speak, ie a D&B forum, R&B, Funky etc, so peeps who are into those genres can post & disscuss etc without other's posting saying *oh it's [censored]* etc!! I've been reading the past posts today ... and there are some excellent ones from anons. Bring back this feature ... It gives great comical value to some posts and alot of posts that just wouldn't have been posted if that option wasn't availiable. Lets use & abuse

I think its about time that members on here can see the negative feedback we have from VERY valued members, sorry, OLD members - who choose to not frequent the site anymore. I'm not saying I agree or dis-agree with any or all of the comments but I think its important that those who care about this site and the direction of it read these statements and see if they can understand or relate to any of them. 2004 is going to ALL be about Member-Driven Events & Meet-Ups. Please make your suggestions here as to where you/CTW havent been which you think we should make darn sure we visit in 2004. There are still shite loads of areas & clubs which we havent even touched the surface on yet and as you know we're after arranging far more varied & exciting clubbing/non-clubbing trips for everyone - that is what we're about. Jack - would you be able to help me design some proper / professional business cards ? They are going to be colour and double-sided - and I will get about 10,000 printed off for £90 - not bad eh - only problem is my attempt (which I will find) sucks ! Any help would be appreciated matey.

it was a lovely blue skin but now i can only find teh default 1 (which is too bright) and the cool blue which is too dark. the skin that ctw had about a year or so ago has disapeard

Some very good points here Fin, thanks for your constructive comments. We're currently re-evaluating what our direction is with the site and what the long term goal is... Things definitely need to change around here one way or another, and if the site is to grow in a positive fashion then I do think we need to stop trying to cater for everything & everyone. Taking some time out to think about all this ...

If any of you have a favorite photo on CTW of yourself, or your mates etc - i am now able to put them into keyrings and fridge magnets for you. I have Blue - Silver or Clear and i think i might have the odd black one avalible. If you were to apply a specfic colour to each high-level genre which colours would you choose ? If possible provide a graphic with the associated colours ? I want to create colour-coded sections for info/interviews/reviews on each genre one day.

1st of all the option on the home page to find the forums is hidden away 2ndly when ur on the entrance page the option to login or sign up isnt obvious to get to the forums can be a little tricky from the entrance page if ur not used to the way how msgbaords operate. just my thoughts but u may disagree

Alot of the problems have arisen lately through stuff like this "you deleted my post and it was fine...your a cunt" "it was against the rules....." "What faaaarking rules" "these ones" "this site sucks & blows all at the same time" Well what i think is make the mods anonymous, obviously we will find out eventually who are the mods, but if we dont know who deleted what and the mods never EVER justified their reasons apart from one statement there would be less personal attacks and bitterness. my 2 pence

is it possible for them to have a larger history than 2 pages? imo its the most worth-while forum on here to look back at past reviews, comments, etc as theres alot of good information on there. but sadly alot of it seems to get lost very quickly
