  1. Started by Mr Happy,

i'm on about the DJ(s) under the name of '2 many DJs' has anybody heard of them before? i'm listening to a set of theirs now and am enjoying it. altho their mixing style is kinda like Disco Stu's flick of the X fader, only with a better choice of tunes. but then i'm only about 15mins into the set so far did want to see them at glasto last year, but fell asleep instead

Bought this the other day. Its the first release on Neonate, the new label from Vicious. Its by Andy Farley and D.A.V.E the drummer. I don't normally like the techy end of things but I'm loving this at the min. Whats anyone else think of it? They're not tracks that instantly jump out at you as being really good but they're definatly growing on me even more.

style: starts a little funky, then goes a little proggy before getting harder i'm not gonna bother giving out cd's for this because the mixing is shite! very shite!! i was pissed and these were new tunes so most of it was guess work ne ways - the only reason i put this online is because i cant see me ever doing a mix cd of this style (its more the stuff i play at home to chill out too) and i thought you guys might be interested in hearing something a little more toneful from me for a change 😛 http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/MangaFish-mix33.mp3

  10. is that not many of them seem to be mixed. i've just been into camden market, found a couple of shops with walls of CD's, and only a couple of them are actually mixed by DJ's, the rest are stand alone tracks. which isn't good the best sounding stuff i've found so far is all live sets downloaded from the net. and so far i only know names of about 4 big name DJ's who play this kinda music and to top it off i had chicken noodles from a stall in camden market, and they were rank ah well

What hymns/music would you like to have played at ur funeral. Hymns for me would be almost definitely Jerusalem - a hymn which personally holds a lot of meaning to me. music: barbers adagio for strings (not the ferry corsten mix b4 ne1 says nething - preferably the william orbit remake) the vocal from chicane - saltwater Sorry for the depressing thread

  14. everyone i talk to says they find breakbeat easer to beatmatch than 4-to-the-floor as theres more going on in breaks i have no idea how they came to that conclusion as i cant seem to mix it for shit so ar, its the only genre i find harder to mix than hardhouse alot of people say techno is the hardest thing theyve tryed to mix, but i find it the easyest to beatmatch and the easyest to actually mix in . and i'm completly hopeless at hardhouse i guess its just what your used to at the end of the day.

Anyone hear the Rob Tissera essential mix last night, gave it a listen today & thought it was a tad too trancey, think they should have given the essential mix slot to someone like karim or glazby, or possibly Oz? but i suppose cusz mixmag is so far up the arse of tissers, halliwell etc, it was only right to give it to a popular bloke!

  16. Started by Scream,

although this tune has been out a while, what everyones thoughts on it. Personally i love it as it's a really nice blend of really hard techno (just like my gran used to make it). Not keen on the track being dropped in hard house sets though, that's just shite! Also is DK french??? And that's a hardware bass being used right?

  17. I know that New Order is supposed to be the ultimate and first ever house music group, but apart from a couple of dodgy tunes from Prodigy, ie. Charlie, nothing came close to Renaissance in the early 90s. Sat at Uni monging a treat and listening to Sunscreem - Perfect Motion, that's the life...

  18. the a side to this is a bit avarage. but the b side is something else. its funky, proggy party style techno. its fukin great. really not like any other track i've heard the duo produce before! i cant help thinking tho that they've raped another tune(s) to create this as (not only does it sound so different to the other stuff of theirs i have, but) i'm sure i've heard this loads of time in the last year heres a link (taken from chemicalrecords.co.uk) http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/servl...C=PUSHER003&S=B

is this a new "sub genre"? heard it mentioned a lot on flyers recently, and heard a couple of tunes that i'd describe as it. Basically HH speed/bassline/style, but with a euphoric melody over the top of it. I think i luuuurve it

not sure what makes me laugh the most, the cheesy tunes or the way how they've labeled themselves as 'techno' but the shameful truth of the matter is alot of their stuff is really well produced and i'm sure if they had the inclination, they could release some really credable club anthems

  29. Started by LiamStyles,

Bought mixmag earlier in the week, but hadnt listened to the cd. I always make sure and listen to the cds even if i dont think I will like them. usually im quite suprised and take to most of them. They may not be on constant play, but do get a listen when in the right mood etc. But I have to say this one is the biggest load of bollox ive heard yet. Im not much of a DnB fan to begin with, but like I said i give everything a shot and try my hardest to "understand" on some level. However, from the off, this cd just bored me to tears. lame ass over used sounds/arrangements that even ive heard before and i dont listen to dnb often. And although the music has a high bpm, i…
