Right, as it's almost the end of the year, I reckon now is a good time to put down your chart of 2003. Name your top 10 (or top 5, top 15, top 20 - whatever!) tunes of the year, in whatever order you like, whatever genre you like etc. Mine are: (Funky/ Soulful/ Deep House in no order) 1. Hardsoul feat. Ron Carroll - Back Together (Hot22 Vocal Mix) [soulfuric] 2. Rasmus Faber feat. Emily McEwan - Ever After (Rasmus Faber Main Mix) [Farplane] 3. The Beard feat Amma - Call Me [NY Soul/ Inspirit] 4. Ben Watt - Lone Cat [buzzin' Fly] 5. Tweet - Boogie 2nite (Bobby D'Ambrosio remix) [White] 6. Grant Nelson - Feel The Music/ The Sound [swing City] 7. Loui…

  9. Just finally getting round to listening to Mod1's other Demo CDs and I have finally found a tune I've been after for AGES now - only problem is I still dont know the bloomin track-listing for this Demo. It is Track 7 on Mod1's "Furnace" Demo CD I personally think its the best Trance tune I've ever heard and I cant fault one single bit of it - amazing - been in my head since Ibiza 2002 when I hearn Armin play it. For me its far superior than the likes of Van D's For An Angel which everyone constantly goes on about. PLEASE let me know who this is by and the title of the track ASAP. (Disclaimer: James is and will always be shite at remebering trac…

"Funky House" is a funny thing to say when you think about it. I mean, all house is designed to be funky, that's kinda the point of house. What house producer goes into the studio thinking "hmm I'm gonna make a house tune but I don't want any of that funky business" I therefore propose that everyone stops calling it funky house. It's house. The funky bit is redundant. That is all.

NB bought what cd: what style: Who mixed it: Ur opinion: Heres mine Frantic residents 4 Hard Trance Phil Reynolds Only listened once thru and that was disjointed due to cooking dinner. Other than that, some solid tunes with gr8 mixing as usual from the man.

  26. i love this track. its got a nice chunky bassline to it. a nice groove to it. imo its 1 of the 1st tunes i've heard thats compined techno and hardhouse well w/o having to go down the slow minimal dull route that so many others do. if i was gonna get musically pedentic i would say it was Nu NRG side of the harddance spectrum. but like so many other music genres, its open to debate. either way tho - it fills my appertite quite nicely

its not a label that seems to get much mention yet i think the standard of their output is very high but then when the producers they have under their belt include: * Ant * Chris Liberator * D.A.V.E. the drummer * Mark Tyler its hardly suprising quality non-anal acid techno
