My mum is going to shilanka in 2 weeks

Is there any video footage on the net that anyone knows of ? Just been told that Phi Phi Islands are devistated. Still a bit miffed we chose the right time to go - 4 weeks difference :S

 

I really wish I could go out there and help although I have just donated online.

yer but we ave had minor earth quakes and stuff and that proved 1 earthquake caused back lash thqat caused all that damage

Nope, I agree that there isn't a god. To let that many people die... I mean, if there was and if it was punishment, surely the White House would've been wiped out first?

 

Anyways, that said I can understand people saying "Thank god" when loved ones and friends narrowly miss being caught up in such a catastrophe.

Its all completely mad..my second cousins live and has done for about fifteen years. no idea if he is ok or what as he has residency there so not like he is booked into any hotels or expected on flight lists. I am sure we will have heard if its the worst but he has a chartered boat business over there so either way I expect they will have been destroyed. Makesyou think, for all our technological advances - at the end of the day we are are all at the whim of nature.

Been watching the news like a hawk for days - I still can't believe all that has happened. And to think James and I was there four weeks before it happened makes it feel all the more surreal. It's well devistating and I can't believe the ammount of deaths there actually is. Such a tragic end to the year man. It's proper kicked me hard ..

It depends if you really mean "thank God" or if you're using the expression in the figurative sense.

 

I think Alex's point is that the word "God" has been trivialised somewhat in this day and age.
