well I for one thank him and if you had family there and they were saved wouldn't you be thanking god too? or would you prefer they perish if all cant be saved????

You're assuming that there is a god, or that it is a god that could help (selecting a few whilst ignoring the hundreds of thousands of others and leaving them to perish).

No not refering to your daughter or her boyfriend, as they chose a holiday there no where near the time that the natural disaster occured. I'd thank them for not going over the xmas period, but that's all. As for people directly involved with the disaster, I would thank those that helped where they could. If those people involved needed help.

 

As for "god" yeah, thanks... for making a crappy planet that's falling to bits and then only "helping" a few people and letting hundreds of thousands of others die. What a poorly thought out concept "god" is.

 

It isn't disrespectful to group imaginary characters together, except maybe if it was meant to be in order of magic powers, for which I may have got the list wrong.
