Yes it is a comp to see who catches crabs first and the purpose of the horses collar is to get acustomed to the size and appearence of where you may catch crabs from!!

You & me both babe cos the pic im seeing is Ben & Jerry's on a thing round a what looks liek a gurning guys neck

yer thats the right pic and its the thing they put on a horses neck wen attaching a cart to pull working horses and stuff

 

 

Right, i'll explain it for you.

 

Gurning is a competition that they hold annually at the Egremont Crab Fair in West Cumbria. Its like a market village fair that last for a few days. as part of the fair they have a gurning competition. this is where gurning was invented and the name was addopted by clubbers who are pulling funny faces beyond their control.

 

Now the rules of the contest are that you have to pull the most ugly, distorted face that you possibly can and, as per tradition, over the last century, the Gurn has to be pulled though the horses collar.

Now when i mentioned the fair Dawn said "is it a contest to see who can catch crabs first?" and "what is the horses collar for?" Now, me, being a self confessed pervert and truly sick minded bugger, i had to reply with something perverse, hence, "yes it is a contest to see who can catch crabs first" (as in pubic lice) and the other reply was in relation to the horses collar resembling some part of a females anatomy where crabs pubic lica may be caught!!!!!!!!!!!!
