On the front page of the Daily Mail today there was an article about a roadside tester for drug drivers and can give the police a reading on the spot. It will work through a sample of saliva being put into a pot which the 'drugalyzer' then tests for Diazepam, Cocaine, Cannabis, Ecstasy and Speed. If you are found over the limit (which is undecided at the moment) the police then take you to the station for a blood test. As they would with Drink Driving. 

They reckon they will have them for use by early next year if i remember correctly.

They are already being tested in various countries across Europe!

why is it? it bugs me when people say they hate drink drivers & would never drinK & drive but using drugs is ok???

saying that though i reckon ppl who drive on drugs are safer than drink drivers so therefore if your allowed to drink a certain amount and drive you should have a limit with drugs.

I dont really agree with drink or drug driving.

 

I know it depends what drugs etc, but I have known some who have been doing K all night & then got in the car & drove & to me that is bang out of order

aye, obviously its not so good that the police force spend so much time and effort on catching out ppl on the road in order for them to make money, but for example, im a new driver and not long til i pass my test, now i dont wanna be cruisin about and end up hit by some wanker in a corsa wit a tail wing who was high and or drunk! i dont think nobody does!

I think it depends on the circumstances how bad it actually is. i know i cldnt get in my car after 3/4 pints and drive safely. Also more ppl who drink drive do it more so when the roads are busier whereas a lot of ppl who ive seen drug drive do it at 5/6 am in the morning when the roads are clear which i dont think is as dangerous.

doesnt make it the right choice to do the act though
