You can be self emplyed but work for a company. ie have contract work with them. So inturn it would be this company who will pay you.

After all the waiting to get my wages - I just got taxed and NI'd £500 !! Emergency tax proper sucks :|

They already know my NI - but because I had no P45 as some divvy lost it in the post, Inland Rev and my accountant is having to sort it ... I'm gona ring them tonight. Just wasn't expecting a £500 cut with emergency tax. :s
