right basically ive worn new shoes that have rubbed a big gaping hole in my foot and its in a really awkward place (right above my big toe on the flat bit) and every pair of shoes i wear are rubbing it. If i put plasters on it its not gonna heal and i really need it to go away cos it hurts and cant wear any shoes. Does anyone have any cures or old wives tale things that might help clear it up

try a cotton bud

salt water on the sore

 

and rubbing your shoes (the bit thats rubbing) with hot water & soap helps make the shoes give & softer, always works for me

Vasaline ... works for everything

 

 

I always rub vasaline on my feet and onto the shoes when there new!

 

You could buy what they call 'new skin' but that'll probably sting a lot ... we used to use that when the yarn had sliced through our skin!

new skin sounds expensive. Ill try the vaseline and salt water see how i get on, our office mum has said salt water too, im gonna wince like a bitch when i do it my face will be a picture lol

how will it not heal with plasters lol

 

thats jus cos ur meant to let air get to something but if u have shoes on a plaster is better protection jus take it off wen at home to let air get to it

apparently plasters will draw it so it wont scab n heal properly. Luckily i can walk round the office with my shoes off so just having to wear shoes to and from work in the week.

 

Gonna soak it in salt water when i get home for as long as i can. Then just keep it in the open as much as possible, have to raid my flip flops see if theres any that dont touch it i can wear

didnt know that about plasters as any time when younger i had them on or my kids do they still heal

 

they say u do need to let air get to it to make the healing process faster but a paster will actually keep the area clean, dry and un infected not to mention prevent the rubbing so much and u can take it off when homeand let air get to it

I think when your a kid itd be better to use plasters as kids tend to get dirty n stuff more so when theyre playing. I dunno thats my best geuss as to why

Luckily i can walk round the office with my shoes off so just having to wear shoes to and from work in the week.

You are lucky ... we can't even wear any form of backless shoes/sandals at all

the rest of the office arent lucky though with my smelly feet out ;oP

kate im more on about the fact ur probably wearing shoes and socks at a guess and thet is gona be rubbing wen u walk in them and rubbing any form of dirt or cotten into it so whilst out and about and working a plaster will have the better protection as more rubbing is even worse and will prevent it from healing any more and at home use the other methods to speed along healing

no i live in my balet shoes for work tbh as its hot. See ur point though if u thought i was in proper shoes then yeh plasters are good then or gauze patches ive been told

 

 

jus better to keep it covered wen on the go and that prevents any more friction and making it worse and then let it heal better at home

 

anyway am off got job center interview thing and hopefully find me a bloody job
