Why is generaly thaught to be a womans job to cook in the kitchen but a mans job to even put burgers on the barbie ?

 

I reckon its to do with peoples minds adjusting to 2 different eras in time.

 

MENS VIEWS

Women cooking in the kitchen....obviously from the 70's all the way back through time when it was always seen as a womans job to be in the kitchen

 

Men being the BBQ king....Men become primative, they think it makes them more dominant to cook in an outdoor area with basic tools (like the cavemen did cooking over a fire). The feel macho when in control of a BBQ, they think it makes them more manly.

 

WOMENS VIEWS

Women cooking in the kitchen....most females I know feel that the kitchen is their area, its their little space of freedom in the house that man "tries" to dominate. Its where they can show that their part of the house / flat is clean, tidy and to their liking. If a man DOES ever cook, the women will ALWAYS moan about the mess they've made...some will even refer to it as THEIR KITCHEN

 

Men and BBQs....its the only time women dont have to cook because of the "dominance" of the male. The man will automaticlly take over to try to impress others so women find it an esay way to relax, kick back and take a day off.

men are naturaly drawn to BBQ's If you are at a BBQ, you will generaly find the men are hudled around the BBQ with a beer in there hand chatting while staring at it.

where as the women like to drink cocktails and sit in the sun
