Well, yesterday i was instructing on a track day at Cadwell in Lincs.

Now to cut a long story short, My bike is currently bust due to a cracked oil sump. Will be fixed very soon though. So, i had to borrow a mates bike to do the track day on. It was a very very nice, 2005 Honda Fireblade in Repsol colours - see attached pic.

This bike is about 2 months old and his pride and joy, or atleast it was his pride and joy!!!

As i was going down the straight at full chat, the bike was doing about 13,500rpm and decided to put one of the pisotns into the cylinder head................. The noise it made was a very loud BANG followed by the sound of a full halfords tool kit in tumble dryer on high spin!!!!

Now the engines bollocksed. But as all good friends do for each other i will fix it. Or should i say, I bust it, Gunster will fix it and i'll pay for it.

That's the chap matey and Blu-ed/the insepctor/mole in the hole or whatever he calls himself now! Forgot you'd know them from DSI. Both very good mates of mine.

Gunster has got his own business that specializes in service and tuning of high performance race bikes.

Far from it matey, unfortunatley.

I've been racing road bikes for about 10yrs now as a privateer in the bemsee and derby phoenix club races. I've Done a few national races in the British superstocks, Road races in Northern Ireland, the Isle-of-Man TT and have raced as a guest at Macau GP near Hong Kong. My avatar pic is from Macau. The shoulder is on the wall and thats at about 95mph! grin.gif

Unfortunatley i'm now getting too old to be spotted by anyone to make it pro but i still enjoy it and still give a few of these young skamps a run for their money.

The problem with all forms of motorsport is that to make it big you have to get spotted. I'm lucky that i have some really understanding sponsors and even in club racing it costs about £15,000 for a season. To race British superbike, copetitively, for a season would cost about £1,250,000. World superbikes - £3,000,000+ and MotoGP - £15,000,000+.

A very close mate of mine has just started racing pro over in Northern Ireland and has been backed to be the next Valetino Rossi, which is absolutley awesome for him, if he lives past 25.
