Homelands 2004 - Sat May 29th - Winchester

user posted image

Its 3 months now until the first (and best!) festival of the year: Homelands !!

I’ve been for the past 2 years, and haven’t experienced anything else like it. My best memories being Carl Cox playing the outside arena as the sun set in 2002, and getting to see both Dave Clarke and Jeff Mills in one evening last year.

This year, as always, promises to be a combination of the world’s best djs and live acts. Faithless headline along with PVD, Eddie Halliwell, Scratch Perverts, Groove Armada (DJ Set), Hype, Dillinja and Ray Keith to name just a few.

It would be really good to get a reasonable crowd to come, and I'll arrange a meet-up point nearer the time. Please contact me if you fancy it and we'll try and arrange lifts from different areas. Bear in mind, it's only 1 hours drive from London !

there's nothing majorly different about it.

it's a festival.

Yes there is, it's a bit less hard and more about other types of dance music.

And all festivals are not the same at all

Official Update:

We Love Homelands have more sonic treats in store for their loyal fans and have just added even more exciting names to the bill including DJs Mark Ronson and Rui Da Silva as well as hot new live acts the Loose Cannons, 20:20soundsystem and Stateless.

New York based DJ/ Producer Mark Ronson burst onto the scene last year with his giant record 'Ooh Wee' and playing to thousands on the recent Timberlake tour, whilst Rui da Silva famous for another big hit "Touch Me" is back in his rightful place as one of the festival's firm favourites.

Stateless are the new kids on the block at the festival and will be showcasing their fresh style of hip hop blues, whilst The Loose Cannons, of 'Superstar' fame, will be performing their popular blend of dirty, pop-funk live. Leeds based House veteran Ralph Lawson will be presenting his 20:20soundsystem; half human, half electronic they're sure to give the crowd a totally new music experience, a continuous wall of sound of live house music, percussion bass

There's no question that the line up for 2004 continues to break ground and challenge musical boundaries. With 8 sound systems in 8 different arenas, We Love Homelands is set to kick off your Summer in unparalleled style.

Tara: Homelands is much better than Global. No way near as many pikeys, much freindlier crowd and much more interesting music.

Happy: deffo be good to celebrate your birthday (esp since you missed it last year !)

Nic: Are you and Scream thinking of coming ?

Phil: PVD is playing !

Im quite tempted to go to this, but the only thing putting me off is the good old british weather! sad.gif

Don't know if im willing to risk what happened at global last yr i.e a drowned rat!!

If i should die this very moment,
I wouldn't fear,
For i have known completeness like being here.
Wrapped in the warmth of you,
Loving every breath of you,
Still my heart this moment or it might burst,
Can we stay right here,
Untill the end of time,
Till the seas stop churning,
Wanna love you till the seas run dry.
Cos Ive found the one i am searching for...........the one.

looked at this and thought. YES. Then realised it clashes with a friend's fecking wedding... damn.

Is there any point getting to the festival for two in the morning do you reckon?

Not yet seen PVD and missing his latest Heaven date (again) for some crap reason or other...

The Weddding is at 2.30 in West London and I'll have to stay for the band and disco as it would be impolite. Given traffic I can't imagine making it much earlier than one. Really annoyed as fancied a festival this year... scheize.
