Posted March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members So serious? I read a few boards and post on one or two, it seems to me that some people love to have their life on full view of the world, they tell everyone what they did last night and how great it was, even if they just went to a mates for a smoke, it has to be the best smoke ever, or they bitch about a mate who didnt do something for them or their partner isnt treating them nice, so they ask advice off people they dont know and probably will never meet, dont you find that just a bit odd? or is it just me? Do you think these people are lonely or cant ask for advice off someone they know? Do they try to prove that they are right and their partner is wrong by getting people on said boards to agree with them? I think these people probably log off and go to their friends (who dont read the boards) and talk to them about what happened on 'The board' today, asif it is an important part of their life.. God these people wind me up

March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members hmm..well it is a message board where people 'chat' about things and whats happening in there life... and most of us are all great mates so its a good way to get things across and saves alot of money on a phone bill plus nothing better than some action!! xxxx
March 3, 200421 yr Author CTW Members Ok, what i mean is, if you want serious advice about something you wouldnt ask a complete stranger woud you? so why post it on a board where anyone can see and answer? and i agree it does make good action Edited March 3, 200421 yr by ChrisT
March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members surely a message board is just a reflection of real life anyway? some people take life seriously. some take life frivolously. some people are thinkers. some people are not. some people are happy. some are sad. some are angry. some are calm. at the end of the day, we're all different and i believe that diversity is important. put another way, lack of respect for diversity is probably one of the world's most fundamental problems. it causes an enormous amount of pain and suffering which could be so easily avoided. humans are surely the only animals which taunt, hurt and even kill each other over something as subjective (and abstract) as a belief. also, don't forget that on a message board, you are not dealing with a person - you are dealing with their online persona. there can often be a huge difference. i get criticised a lot on CTW for being too serious which seems to me as odd as criticising somebody for being too frivolous or too happy or too whatever. it seems like an odd reaction to me. but i guess we're all human. QUOTE if you want serious advice about something you wouldnt ask a complete stranger woud you? so why post it on a board where anyone can see and answer? while most people are most comfortable asking for advice from close friends, for many others, there's a refreshing liberty in asking for advice on a personal issue from somebody who has absolutely no emotional investment in the relationship. further, a message board gives people fast access to a wide spectrum of different opinions which can be valuable sometimes too. good topic. alasdair "I've got medication, honey. March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members I agree. While some people do have an annoying habit of starting a new thread to tell the world each and every tiny detail of their life, from having a piss to burning their toast, on the most part it's a great way to get a non-biased opinion from some one reasonably similar like you (at least in terms of age and interests), to meet new people when it's hard other wise and to save on your phone-bill!

March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members TBF - message boards ARE real life. Especially CTW imo, as we all know eachother on a personal level. ClubTheWorld.com's OFFICIAL Events Reviewer
March 3, 200421 yr CTW Promotors I also think that some peeps may find it easier to talk about stuff behind the safety of a pc screen, be able to express themselves easiers. Does this really make them sad?? IMO no!! & also some peeps do not have much of a social life & find chat rooms/forums a release/escape & do see others on there as mates, look at these couples that date over the net etc without even meeting, not for me personnally but for others it works Techno, Techno, Techno
March 3, 200421 yr CTW Members Some people are just sad. My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both. I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life...
