I know its fairly difficult not to but why do people stereotype just because of the job a person does?

i know all to well what you mean.

 

just because im a barmaid, doesnt mean i have no brain (ok, bad choice there), no education, no future prospects, and pretty easy

 

so basically im a dumb blonde, big tits, easy on the eye, nieve (sp?), no oppinion of my own, easy lay & been around a fair bit and couldnt do any other job

If you're in a job and someone thinks you're scum it's up to you to change their opinion instead of moaning about it.

Bolocks mate. I believe the people who know me from this site think i'm alright and probably don't even bother thinking about my job.

 

But people who don't will immediately stereo type me and will not take the time or effort to try and get to know me.

 

It doesn't matter if i try and prove them different. I will still be stareotyped.

i know what you mean here. i know my job isnt really what you would think as a job to look down on (electrician) but the way some people treat you when i have to work in an office environment pisses me off.

 

just because everyone is in suits and ties and all that shit, i get looked at and spoken to as if im some sort of lower class scum and should not be allowed in there.. i prolly earn more than most of the fuckers too!

I was expecting you to say some thing like you work at KFC or something like that. Because that would have made me stereotype you.

We all have to work, if people see you any different now then fuck em...

 

I went raving in Amsterdam a few years ago, got talking to a couple of people i met out there and it ended up that they were coppers...

No what ya mean.

 

I look at the Police Force as a bunch of hypocrytes (sp). Always have done.

 

But then, I like to think I treat and speak to anyone and everyone as an individual.

 

I guess im actually steriotyping their roll rather than who they actually are.

thanks for all your positive answers but i still say if i come out clubbing wth any of you lot again, who enjoy a few party extras, then you will treat me differently to how you did before you knew my trade, even though i'll be joining in with the extras!!

 

if i'm in uniform then i have a duty to uphold the law. If not then i live life to the max and push the limits of the envelope.
