what do you think? unsure.gif

im 50/50 on this one,

im a social smoker (smoke only when out, usually about 20 cigarettes a week) but beleive a non smoker shouldnt have to breath in my smoke, if they wanted to smoke thay would start themselves (dont stop me from doing it though, i can just see where there coming fom blushing.gif ).

should a smoker pay into a private health scheme instead of bleeding the NHS dry? (before you all start shouting at me, i didnt say this.........its something that was said by a doctor on TV, but i cant say i completely disagree with it)

what would happen if cigerettes go banned completely?........ grin.gif

I think it is fair to prohibit smoking in certain area's such as restuarants etc, but to ban it completely is discriminating to smokers IMO!! tongue.gif

thats what i said when i was talking about it to my dad (whos been a smoker for 35 years) but he come out with a comment that to be honest i couldnt disagree with............................

"is it discriminating smokers though? unsure.gif .....its not like skin colour, your not born a smoker, you have the choice to quit and lead a healthy life or never to start in the first place, the smoker is not the victim, its the non smoker that has to breath in the smokers fumes by not given the choice"

It would make my day if smoking was banned in public. I hate gettin smoke in my face when I'm out socially or in the street. Its a totally anti-social habit! I know this won't be a popular opinion with the smokers!! I'm prone to throat problems so the last thing I need on top off that is smoke- I cross the street to avoid it but why the fuck should I have to do that!!

I do agree with you to a certain extent Ely, but as I say, we pollute the air & lungs with so much other stuff, im not for banning it totally, but sure certain places, or there should be designated smoker areas, for sure grin.gif

i've seen significant evidence that suggests that passive smoking is whole-load of shit. the damage done to you is miniscule compared to air pollution and standing withing 5 metres of a bonfire or barbecue is equivalent to an obscene amount of directly inhaled cigarettes.

fair play if you don't want the smell whilst your eating but passive smoking is over-played by the media (for a change).

Its not the damage to my lungs or the environment that bothers me, its the smell. It gets everywhere, as a non smoker you really notice it on your clothes and in your hair. And it can make affect my asthma, in which case i leave.

I'm pleased to see its banned in lots or restuarants etc, there's nothing worse than whilst you're still eating somebody else lights a cigarette and the smoke getting in your eyes and throat. Its very rude, can't smokers wait until everybodies finished eating?
