went to a funeral last Thursday for a relative of a relative (if that makes sense). It was my first one i'd been to and was reasonably upsetting even tho i didn't really know the person. I just learnt today that another distant relative has died since then and it turns out that i may be going along to that as well. Also my grandparents are forever talking about what they'd do if one of them died etc.

All of this, and the terrorist bombs in Madrid that happened on the same day as the funeral i went to got me really thinking about death and was wondering if u r ever too young to have a will, and to make funeral arrangements. I personally have lots of personal items that i would like to go to certain people and have certain hymns/music i would like to be played at my funeral but was wondering if i'm too young to really be thinking about these matters.

I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.

It's horrible to think about and really unlikely that anything will happen to you but that doesn't mean you shouldn't make preperations. If you want to make a will you should, at least people wouldn't have to worry about whether they were doing what you would have wanted.

Iv thought about death, although not on a regularly basis.

Im taking out life insurance soon, and all that money will go to my nieces, nephews, and my family.

But everything I OWN will go to my nieces and nephews.

You're never to young to plan / start anything.

You cant legally make a will til your 18. If you die before that then everything you own goes to your next of kin (usually your parents).

I havent made a will yet and I'm 29, but my next of kin is my son so he'll get everything. I just hope he likes films as much as I do coz I got ALOT of vids and DVD's.

Admittedly I think about death quite a bit. I'm not scared of it. I wake up everyday knowing it could be my last. I know that sound a bit morbid but I cant help it.

I lost a brother an aunt and a very close friend all in the space of 2 yrs, that made me sort a will, and life insurance etc, its good to know that if the worse does happen my folks and family wont have to worry about funeral costs etc and any debts i have will be paid....

I was nieve enough to think if I stayed married to the childrens father everything would automatically go to him ... knowing 110% that he would split everything 3 ways.

Everything would have gone to him but they'd have had to pay inheritance tax and other legal bumff and loose out big time.

I wouldn't pay for my funeral inadvance ... they might go bust.

A lady where I work died last week - was terrible I only saw her b4 the w/end, I was off sick last wk then heard that she's gone in to have a minor operation & died on the operating table - she was having a biospy that went wrong - really tragic stuff sad.gif Same thing happened to one of my ex's cousins & he ws only 27 sad.gif

I've often thought of making out handwritten will tho seems morbid but I know if I died my mum would jsut give whatever I had to my cousins that I dont even see or even get on with - would def want my m8s to have anything rather than them!
