A 19 year-old bottle collector remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and a doorman has a lucky escape as bullet misses his vital organs. This story is due to the double shooting at Reading’s Matrix club last Friday during its garage night G.UK. As chaos broke out between 500 people in queues and security, the Thames Valley Riot Police were called in to neutralise the surmounting violence. Unconfirmed reports say that the gunfight continued into nearby streets after the initial fracas died down. The Thames Valley Police could only describe the situation as ‘serious disorder.’

The Thames Valley police have matched the nightclub’s initial offering of £10,000, therefore now totalling £20,000, for information leading to the conviction of the culprits. Witnesses can call crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. The Matrix owner, Maurice Webb said, ‘The Matrix has been the latest victim of the violence associated with the garage scene. There will never be another garage event at the Matrix’.
