i'm the south coast on Britain, and I've bloody well hearda bout it. This is very real.

Today is such a sad, sad day for me, the news is only just sinking in, it is true that Garlands is no more, it was burnt down last night and the whole place is absolutely gutted, this club was not only just a club, this was a community, it has bought so much into my life and I can't even begin to explain how fantastic this place is/was, I hope that we will always remember what made Garlands, and that is the people who went there, let us never forget our community and the people that we have bonded with in this club, some of you might feel that I am waffling [censored] and it was only just a club, well it wasn't just a club, it was a way of life, and hopefully we can all be strong and pull together and remember the good times, becasue there were so many good times.

James is gonna be distraught aswell.

That place was home to half of Liverpools ravers and the biggest fave with CTW, now its in cinders overnight

I am gutted about this, I know I weren't a regular but I've been 3 times and loved every minute of it as I know every other single person did that went from outside Liverpool! Surely it will be re-furbushed, re-open and be back to its old self soon???

Dave - I am so fuckin upset and angry babes, it really has only just started to sink in now, tell you what mate, I am so glad hat moest of us were there on Sat night and we had such a fantastic time, I am gonna go over after work and see for myself, don't think I will quite fully believe it till then

the problem is re-creating the magic. I always believed the people made garlands. the bouncers were selective with not allowing trouble makers in, the people were up for a party but ultimatey we'll all have to go to another club while its refurbished and these people will never be able to recreate the atmosphere of that place. Sure itll get refurbed, done up as good as new but you can never make things as good as they were. just one of those things we gotta get on with tho.

 

sounds like we must be banging on about it to all u people who never got to go but i never took anyone there who wasnt dyin to get back. everyone i know loved it. it was the who feel of the club that made u all fuzzy inside.

So we are presuming this is an arson attack over an accident ?

Far too early to say, its a possiblilty! At least the place wasn't open when peeps were in there!!

I simply can't beleive this sad news. Sluk your 21st will go down in history & never be forgotten.

 

The spirit of Garlands will not so easily be distroyed. Garlands is a venue, lets hope they will continue and rise like a pheonix from the flames.

 

I feel privalidged to have been a party to such a unique club & to have met such wonderful people.

 

Words belittle my heart felt sadness this morning. At least nobody was hurt.

 

I feel the need to acknowledge this disastorus event. Anyone any ideas?
