when it says a dj/producer is playing live opposed to when it says he/she is djing?

why sometimes does it just have 'live' in brackets after there names on flyers and so on..????

When Lab 4 play live, they set up there gear and play live (a lot more live than a lot of other dance acts) but when it says DJ sets, it means that Adam (I think) is gonna spin some tunes.

a DJ set is just that: spinning their own and other people's music from prerecorded vinyl or CDs.

 

live means they have the equipment used to create the tunes in the first place on stage: laptop; sequencer; synths; etc. and they make the music in real time (although elements of it may be predetermined and they may incorporate samples from sources such as vinyl or CD).
