Posted March 17, 200421 yr CTW Promotors Hi guys, right, have been talking to a friend & they know of 3 laptops for sale, all Hewlitt Packard, the first one is a compaq nx9010 at £500, then a nx9005 at £450 & an Evo n1020 at £400. could any of you tell me if they are value for money & would I be able to run music progs like cuebase etc on any of them?? thanx:D Techno, Techno, Techno
March 17, 200421 yr If you're buying them second-hand then probably not worth it as they are only about £600 or so new for the nx9010... The specs for them are OK I suppose, but nothing special and cubase etc might be a little slow on any of them...
March 17, 200421 yr CTW DJs the minimum i would recommend for any audio prog worth its salt is P3 800mhz 256 ram and that will still be a lame setup..
March 17, 200421 yr CTW DJs ...and you will need some kind of (usb?) external sound device cos the built in laptop sound will prolly be a awful bogstandard thing that will glitch like hell
March 17, 200421 yr Author CTW Promotors thye are brand new & ben looking on net getting info etc, think he is gonna go for it Ian, no doubt you will be quizzed hon Techno, Techno, Techno
March 18, 200421 yr CTW DJs It's one of the better compaq's in the range and has: hp compaq nx9010 P4 2.8 GHz 256M/40G 15" TFT XGA DVD/CD-RW ATI M Radeon modem WXP Pro apparently it's quiet good. so this should be enough to run music programs off then?
