OK, so here's my prob, please don't laugh coz this just proves how shite I am with computers!

How do I open downloaded files???

It downloads into my download manager then says 'download complete' but then what do I do???

Anyone help me???

you besst bet is to do a search for file or folders!

the down load comes up as a desktop icon then i click on it and it says something like ' the appropriate translators are not available'

what the f**k does that mean?!!!

what kind of files are they? where are you getting them? what is the exact text of the error message?

 

should be easy enough to sort out with a little more information, tara...

dont have a clue!

 

when you download anything, it should usually always ask you where on your pc you wanna download it to,IE your hard drive.

 

Once there, you choose which folder to store download in - IE Program Files for somethin like kazaa, or My Documents for an image etc.

 

then you just gotta double click it and Roberts your fathers bruvva !

Whooooa, I only do PC's.

 

The only macs I know about have stains on the inside and I'm banned from wearing them outside schools....

When downloading it should ask you if you want to save it somewhere or open it directly. You should always choose to save it somewhere first and I would normally set up a directory like c:\downloads or d:\downloads. When the download has completed open up Windows Explorer and go to that directory - then edit/run as appropriate. If you click 'Open' instead of save it should download it to a temporary directory and open it automatically from there but if its a big download and it fails to run you will have possibly have to re-download again from scratch.

It doesn't ask me if I want to save it or anything. It downloads and then a blank desktop icon comes up!

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing is driving me bonkers!!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like it's a PC application that you've downloaded, but are triying to run it on a mac.......

 

Although I haven't really used Mac's, so that could be nonsense.......
