Beckie....At least ask about Voluntary redundancy, before you hand in your notice, you never know they might be looking to shed staff, and after a year you have lot's of rights. at least you would be getting two three /months, + holiday, instead of nothing. Make noises about constructive dismisal and stress related causes and they might be even more accomodating.

 

On the general point, it's easier to get a new job if you are in a job, but more difficult to find one. Wack out CV's for a couple of weeks (on company time if you can) see how the land lies. Having said that if you leave, you will be free to move around the country a bit more. Pro's and con's to everything, I guess.
