its also not techno

maybe, maybe not...

I refuse to use the phrases 'hardstyle' or 'tech-hardhouse' to describe the techno/hardhouse hybrid stuff as they are stupid names, so to me, its techno!

hardstyle is shit.

so is this sub-fanny-genre of tech-hardhouse...

Bring back the stuff from a year ago back!

It's hard house. How is it not hard house...?

Why isn't it hard house?

How come you class this as a hybrid of techno and hardhouse? Where are the techno elements?

cos its serious and uses percussion changes rather then big riffs....

Neither of those things make it techno!

Why can't hard house sound serious? (admittedly most of it sounds like a joke to me wink.gif)

The track just doesn't have that techy feel to it. It's just a stripped-back hard house tune with some minimal percussive fluff over the top. But that fluff sounds "tacked on" - it doesn't feel integral to the tune.

Techno doesn't have to sound serious (some funky techno is very light/uplifting, but still has that characteristic techy groove to it).

MINIMAL + DARK does not equal TECHNO!

It can, but I would class serious hardhouse as Karim/Glazby style tracks...

Dont really care whether im right or wrong tbh, to me this is just 150bpm techno made to appeal to a hardhouse market
