If I wanted to play pirate DVD's would I need a multi-region player or one that is CD-R/RW compatable??

I've been told I need a multi-region one, but I thought it had to be CD-R/RW compatable!

Does anyone know for sure??

it depends on the pirated dvd's.

They could be pirated but still be region 2, though I imagine most pirated dvd's will be the Asian or american regions, so a multi region player will always help.

:-)

You'll only need cd-r read capability if you want to watch dodgy video discs.

depends on several things. Is teh DVD being re-written on a DVD or CD? Either way get multi-region and CD/RW.

Also is this for ya PC or a standard player?

Im debating wether to get one of those new 'Region X' Multi-region playback kits for the PS2 or to get a brand new DVD player

If I just need Multi-region then I could get this playback kit but if I need CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R compatable then I would need a new Player as a PS2 doesnt play these without a chip!
