I know there are lots of students on here but it would be interesting to hear what my fellow 9-to-5'ers do to pay the rent.

 

It's a cliche for clubbers to dislike their day-job, or not want to talk about it, but actually I really love my job and I'm not ashamed of it at all. Does anyone else have a really cool job?

I'll start the ball rolling:

 

I'm a software engineer. That's a euphemism for "computer programmer" or "nerd"! I [censored] for a tiny company, developing music software. The [censored] I do is ever-changing so doesn't get too boring; I'm given lots of responsibility and trust; my boss is a top geezer; I get to [censored] from home a lot of the time; and the pay isn't too bad. To top it off, because of the nature of the programs we develop, I have to use my knowledge of music theory as well as my IT skills.

 

Best job I've ever had.

Well ... MrM is a Store Manager for Homebase and ...

 

You'll never guess what I do .. but it's only on a part time basis ..

Well ... Mid Day Supervisor they call them now ... I make the kids eat their greens and then play kissy catch in the playground !

I'm a geeky programming type too. Wasn't brave enough to admit it first tho. Hopefully one day I will get to engineer some interesting software like liquideyes!

I [censored] at Bournemouth University, assisting/teaching in Telecommunications and Networking.

 

I also [censored] behind the student union bar, and [censored] freelance writing for some magazines.

 

I'm interviewing Jason Donovan this week.

I've got 2 jobs - in the week i'm medical secretary, on sundays i've got my own market stall.

i was really pissed off one day and made a patients dentures out of some glow in the dark acrylic i found, poor sod.
