What you sell between yourselves is up to you but you cant be selling anything in relation to CTW. I really haven't got much of a clue about the legal side of all this but its better to be safe than sorry - I think Tony and other DJs on here might know a bit more about what you can and cant do.

We have just sent 50 out and that's put us out of pocket. £2 is a far price in my opinion, good tunes, very good mixing and once we sell one we can get another one produced which is what we are doing. Just waiting for another 50 to be completed asap

Yes it is illegal, ESPECIALLY if you make any profit. However I think there's a legal clause whereby, if you claim your CD is a "demo" (i.e. the focus is on your track selection / mixing / DJing abilities, rather than the tunes themselves) then you can give it to people for free.

 

When I posted the cost breakdown, I wasn't trying to be pedantic, I'm just stressing that if you make one penny out of selling an unlicensed mix CD, then that's really quite naughty. Basically you're making money out of someone else's music!

 

As for the house party thing - I'm not sure where you draw the line between "private listening" and a "party". But as Mr Happy rightly says, nightclubs etc are TECHNICALLY supposed to sign up with the PRS so that royalties are distributed to artists.

Ive heard this cd & in my opinion its worth £15 let alone £2! Nice 1 Jukesy!

20mins to burn the CD at x4 speed (during which time you can go away and do something else!!)

 

50p is a bit steep m8! Go to computer fairs and get a hundred v.good quality cds for £15 or sumin silly like that!

i've gotten all your emails,just not had time to reply to them.I have passed your CD on to EVolution and Top Boss Thomas is still yet to listen to it. At the moment he is extreamly busy,as we're fighting to get a club reopened and be has been writing alot of reports and stuff.Hopfully he has listened to them today. I'll email you, or get him to call you when he does
