Ive got one of his sets, but it doesnt sound.....all that hard

I saw him a few years ago at Passion. I'd describe him as trancey / progressivey / slightly-hard. (I've given up trying to describe music in one word!)

 

Besides we could end up in another debate about what "hard" is...

If you define hard trance as banging >145bpm stuff then no, he's a "trance" DJ.

More importantly, I might add, I'd describe him as "fairly good"

Depends on what you guage hard trance as.

 

IMO, JFK is trance, but he also plays quite funky. Therefore, we must decree that JFK is;

 

FUNKY TRANCE

he's a crossover dj, plays trance/hard trance/hard house (whatever you wanna called it!/).

 

depends when his set really, early on... as wub says funkier trance. generally, he plays harder, especially if its last set.

 

its all the same hands in the air stuff anyway, hard trance/trance - wheres the line? jfk just a bit harder than the next trance dj
