In order to avoid the situation (like last night, at scala) that all the old hands are late and/or go straight to the venue and a newbie is left waiting for half an hour standing outside a random branch of WH Smiths in Kings Cross Station. Sorry Jools!! Top Bloke BTW!!.

 

Proposition : ALL future pre-event Meet Ups in a bar or a pub!!... At least then peeps can be inside in the warm and enjoying some refreshements!!

if i'd known he was coming i'd have given him my no. we need to make sure that any newbies meeting up with us have at least one mob no. of someone going. Then if plans change we can let them know.

Its mine & james fault - we got lost on the way to Kings Cross then founnd Tara & Soph. The we realised we had no contact no for Jools to get hold of him.

I'm with Big E - we should be meeting in safe bars & clubs, especially when its dark.

 

My [censored] up by the way - i told sarah the wrong way to Kings Cross and we ended up being really late with Soph & Tara waiting for us for ages - and then i thought we were meeting outside club and not wh smiths.

I've been reading these types of posts for ages now and it still happens! All new members from now on will get a PM from me and whoever else wants to, that person will then recieve a text if a venue has changed or its been put back because its later! You cant just text someone saying 'its here at this time', what if that person dont know where the meet-up is? What if they try and call but cant get through because the pub / bar we are in has no service like what happened at the Zoo Bar last week after the venue had been changed on the night because of problems with the Red Cube? I dont give a rats arse whos playing where, if a new member or any other member hasn't turned up because they are late then that person should be waited for not just left without no message!

I have to agree, we should have text / called the person to let them know where we were. On this occasion though it was all arranged at last minute by one of our other members who had got their number off them.

Neither myself or james had got their number as we had already left when the post was made on CTW.

maybe next time sumthin like that happens 1 of us that r too ill/broke/detoxing/whatever who happens to be online just b4 the meet up, can pass sarahs number onto them or pass thier number onto u sarah

 

just a thought - would be handy having a designated net watcher 4 the lead up 2 the event

hehe, lucky i had a housemate at home for ctw ngiht who logegd on for me so i could get Creamy's number otherwise i wuold have ahad a long long wait outside of Bar None for people.

Maybe we should post somewhere that it is up to the new person to get mine / creamys / james mobile off us before they plan on meeting us. When we are travelling a long distance to clubs (which is more often the case than not) its inpossible to keep up with what is happening on the board - ie members suddenly deciding to come out etc.

i think thats a bad idea sarah cuz then ur forcing shy newbes to make the 1st move - i think that will put alot of ppl off

All i am saying is that there is going to be a problem like last wednesday when neither myself or james was around when the meetup with Jools was planned. We were both on our way to Kings Cross.

Some thought needs to go into the planning of meetups like this.

There was also an incident at Gatecrasher where we had arranged a meet up point & no1 turned up to it cos another of our members had arranged another for somewhere else at the same time & not told us.
