January 11, 200322 yr CTW Members Smart ripper v.3 is quite a good one to use as it comes with compression software to help you cram all the info off a dvd onto a standard cd (using the DiVX video and the MPEG2 audio codecs) Don't ask me where the [censored] you'd get a copy though - have been looking to replace my copy for a while now
January 11, 200322 yr CTW Members you want DVD2SVCD mate, with i think cinemacraft codec. very good combination there mate!
January 11, 200322 yr CTW Members i used to do this, mates always told me it would take 6 hours to encode a dvd to avi/mpeg. never took more than 2 though so its a damn useful way to copy dvd's. used smart ripper to take off the vob files then encoded with flask (not very good but hey).
January 12, 200322 yr Author CTW Members I am using dvd2svcd, but it is taking 7 hours, and has to burn to CD

January 12, 200322 yr Author CTW Members I left it running over night, and have watched the first 10 minutes, and it looks pretty good. It is a NIN live DVD I am ripping, the sound and stereo definition seems pretty good, and it seems to have dealt well with the extreme lighting effects in full screen. But 7 hours for a 50 min segemnt seemed a bit much.
January 12, 200322 yr CTW Moderators lol at least its good quality! Si@ClubTheWorld.ukCTW Moderator | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram
January 13, 200322 yr CTW Members seconded - i use smartripper and it's pretty fast. ripping is generally pretty fast. it's normally the encoding which is very slow. alasdair "I've got medication, honey.
