Funky house...

I've always called funky house, "funky house". Never had any problems.

 

But this weekend I was told it's not "funky house" cos it's only called "funky house" cos thats what it's called at sundissential!

 

???

 

i appreciate its only a variation of "house" but there are so many so called genres of house, even tho essentially, HOUSE is derived from US garage... but then, i wouldnt go round saying im really into garage, for fear of being shot..

 

hmm...

 

so... funky house or not?

I was into house music back in 2000, what really got me into it was when I took my first acid and went to Gatecrasher, it was the first time I had gone since the Millenium night @ don Valley, anyway Oakey was on n the music in the trance room sounded weird so I went upstairs into the plasma room where they played house music... I [censored] loved it and it opened my eyes even more to the genre of house, since that day though I always called it funky house coz to me it was funky baby! This was well before hard house clubs had funky rooms! ibiza 2001 was why house became popular again and therefore people lablled it 'Funky house' remember b4 summer 2001 Hard House was the 'in' thing, then when i came back to UK in october 2001 Sundissential, Insomniacz, Sunday Service all started having funky rooms coz people wanted it! Hard house now is now hard dance why coz the hard house name was tired but its still popular! they've just changed the name to keep it popular! its the mags that do this! so now funky house term is gettin tired so wha they callin it...Tech house! rest my case!

It'll always be FUNKY for me .... you can just add your little sub headings yourself ... as in , dirty, chunky, dark etc ..

Yeah will be Funky house for me 2 coz i prefer the disco type ie funky!!!
