Right, myself and James were talking over the w/e, and we've come to the decision that a reason for a lot of the random [censored] that happens at after parties is because we carry on, rather than winding down.

 

 

Every now and again it is just nice to sit round at an after party without a line of cereal in front of you and just have a communcal smoke and almost chill out sess, rather than snorting kellogs and attempting to touch the colours of the air.

 

 

What does everyone else think? I know it's personal preference and all, so give me yours.

Personally i think there is no harm in it really, the key word is moderation though, maybe 2 much was done on sunday, especially that line that sent you into your hole wub.

 

 

Well i reckon, no I KNOW, that I fook off the majoriy of people at afters - especially newbies who i DO really want to speak to but am incapable of. For me its just chilled smokes and wacky/more interesting convos with people now - I think DJ Tommy put my head straight and made me 'see the light' - pity you werent there tommy as i fooking missed ya! So its for me from now on peeps and thats a promise - too much convos i'm missing out on and hopefully i will chill the [censored] out in future!!

Just sitting and chilling is good, I prefer just having a smoke and a chat sometimes... Other times the cereal comes into it's own... Maybe not when there is too much on offer and people don't know when to stop though...

please dont take this personally peeps but i found it quite sad to se a bunch of people whod been really cool all night, turn into a bunch of drug monkeys.....it wasnt pleasant to see...i could see where people were getting confused. innocent misunderstandings turning into paranoia. it was all a bit silly....after coming out of my own drug nightmare a few years back i found it all a bit saddening to watch.

I am normally hyperactive after a night out, and so end up jumping around till about 6 in the morning anyway, but I definately think that nice chilled music, conversations, food, a few beers and a bit of playstation is the way to go after coming home....I always end up in a right state if I carry on a bit too late into the next day.

sounds interesting. on one hand, mad nites are outstanding fun, but sometimes can be taken too far, and on the other hand chilling out is essential from time to time but not if your still in the party mood...

I think i personally am over-doing the after parties - i need to get home to bed at a more decent time for a start!!

 

Taking certain things - ie special is such a personal experience & draws you more into yourself than out so hardly the best start for getting to know people better!

I much prefer it when we all sit about chatting & having a laugh rather than spouting random [censored]!

I agree with most of that, when i first turned up everyone was in a friendly mood, but it did seem to get more insular and paranoid. I have been to too many afterparties where everyone just goes into their own hole, not fun.

 

Personally, I like a few beers, some mellow trance, and good (all be it bollox) conversation

yeah ok - totally agreed - and i rek i was the worst culprit and not a good example! Deffo sorting this and you will see a serious improvement at the next afters. Would be really cool if we could ALL do it together and so no one if tempted to go overboard.

 

As many of you know i HATE it when the club shuts - i'm always there until the last set pretty much and it scares me that the party is over - i want it to go on and on for at least another 2 or 3 hours. Afterparties i thought were the answer as I had heard stories of massive house parties from other friends but only just realised that these were INSTEAD of the club - they werernt massive rip-up parties happening after 9 hours of clubbing! I now realise that afters should be treated as proper chilled with maybe a few drinks and a smoke and ARE the best chance to get to know people - even more so than the pre-meet at the bar - as everyone is always late or rushing about buzzing like anything and wanting to get in there. I think one of the best afterparties i've been to was with nick g, ray and chris (omg i've remembered his name again! lol) at laura's and ?? and that was so cool as we were all mostly on alcohol and had a wicked time and realised we had even MORE energy to stay up late and carry the afters on and on talking etc.. - in fact it was the longest running afters EVER last year. These ARE the way to go and believe you me i'm gonna be trying bl**dy hard myself to get back to this type of afters. End of the day what we do DOES really piss people off who arent into it and its bloody selfish. I have asked time and time again over PMs to people "did i piss you off" and they always replied "no mate, you were fine!" - well i dont think they were being straight with me and probably just being polite.

 

Thanks to mod1, blink etc.. for speaking out about this - its time we sorted it as its got WAAAY out of hand. I'm pleased i went through it though so i can appreciate the new type of afters we're gonna have more...
