Now if you put a diagonal line thru the = it then, algebraecly means that;

 

20 - 05 does not equal 4 - 40

 

thus making the equation correct.

 

But i'm sure there is another answer!!

I got it! It's not a numerical answer, it's all about time...

 

Put a vertical line down the side of the left dash to give you 20 t 05 = 4-40

 

You then have 'twenty to 5 equals four forty'.
