hehe, I sort of wish I'd gone for the virus in a way, ut I got a good deal on the nova shrug.gif

my nova never really gets a look in now really. ive been always slightly unimpressed with it really...tho you dont like admitting it to yourself when youve just spent nearly £600 on the bastard. its just got no real special character to it. shrug.gif

nova is [censored] at pads, the phazer is crap, the filters aint that good and theres no modulation routings for the really interesting stuff. it just leaves me a bit cold. the basses can be ok, but id like it to do more for me. undecided.gif

when it comes to trance there are certain sounds that you need to be able to do (eg. big washy pads and lush leads). the nova just seems to stuggle where the virus does them effortlessly.i couldnt live without my virus now. luvu.gif

nice one mate - will deffo consider that i think.

REALLY want a Supernova 2 - seen the rackmounts for £600 - cant wait to get my hands on one full time.

Also after a Proteus 2000 - although i think there is a new contender out - Proteus 2500 ?

2000 - £489

supernova is the same engine as the nova, its just got more knobs on, more polyphony and 2 more multi-timbral parts

...take note from above(my mates got one,so ive used it a lot)

  • CTW Admin

same sound engine...all they did was boost the multi and poly spec. i really wouldnt recommend them unless you ve bought everything else that you want

  • CTW Admin

aha ! clever marketing eh!

o well, in that case i'll prob just go for the lower end spec. Its not like i need really really pro stuff yet and can always upgrade to something else later on...
