right theres 3 basic issues i wanna cover, but 1st i'll give u a brief of what i'm planning on doing:

 

sumtime in june (sat 7th june is is the target date) i'm planning on runnning a 1 off club night. the idea being its an exclusive invite only party 4 me and me m8s 4 me 21st birthday (obviously all of CTW is invited). the target figure of people i'm aiming to get there is 200, but i'm unsure if i'll make that figure @ the mo as i havnt got much planning sorted and its all very short notice.

 

music style is leaning towards hardhouse, but if i end up @ a venue that will have a 2nd room (i'd be very lucky to pull this 1 off ) then the 2nd room will be everything from trance, funky house, techno, hip-hop - just basically what ever the dj wants to throw in

 

the djs will be mates - obviously i wont be able to afford to pay em, but as theres no set times or nowt its just as case of ppl having fun behind the decks

 

i might have to charge people for entery (i dont really want to do this mind) to cover the cost of highering out a venue - i'm not after a profit from this so the only charge i will charge will be enuf to pay 4 the venue alone (i'm looking at a ruff entery price of a fiver if a get aprox 200 ppl in and the venue costs £850ish)

 

basically i want to know hte following:

 

1) ne venues in london with a 200ish capacity

2) ne1 that would be up 4 DJing (4 free)

3) the sorta figures of ppl that would be up 4 going to this (please dont put ur name down if ur trying to sound sociable but really have little or no intention of going @ all)

 

spoken to a few m8s and theyve been well up 4 the idea plus a few premoter m8s have givern me some excelent advice on venues et al

 

btw - just cuz this is an invite only that dont meen u cant invite ur m8s as long as thier sound ppl - the idea is (as much as i enjoy chatting to em) i wanna keep randoms out as this is an excuse to be round all me good m8s that have been there 4 me and supported me over the years. plus think of the atmosphear!!

 

(p.s. james - isnt this the beginnings of what u were ultimately aiming 4 CTW - a club where EVERY1 knew each other!!!)

I would love to come and dj coz my 21st is in june but london is very far for me plus i dont drive but good luck with all that happens

just come along 4 the fun then - u dont have to DJ - and londons never too far by train (intercity)

if i came i would have to dj coz the urge just takes over. is it an all nighter?

what dates would be best 4 every1?

 

i was planning on having it in the 2nd wkd in june, but that will be a problem 4 1 or 2 of the ppl i would like to come

 

basically if u put down the best dates and problem dates i'll try to find sum wkd that is best 4 most ppl (and avoid the festivals 2oo)

Is it just me, or does that seem a bit expensive for a 200 capacity venue???

 

Would be up for djing at the event although its a bit far for me to come as a clubber im afraid (Will be back in Sheffield by then)... did you send me your addy for a mix cd??

 

Even if you dont need any djs, if you need any help with anything, gimme a shout - I have my first promotion event on Saturday (the one in my signature), and the experience has helped me learn quite a bit about promoting (whether its successful or not remains to be seen however lol)

yeah - i'm leaning 2wards a clubbing pub now - like the purple turtle (if u have ever been to camden) kinda thing.

 

i think teh venue itself isnt soo important as long as u have a good loud sound system and sumwhere to sitdown and sumwhere to dance
