my son (and no doubt daughter will soon aswell) has mumps....he looks like a hamster

Yup...thats right. Its like alot of things...measles, rubella, chicken pox, small pox...etc, etc. Once you've had it you'll never get it again.

Thats not true for all those things. You can have Chicken Pox more than once, as there are different strains of the virus. Not sure about the others!

iv had chicken pox twice, when i was a kid then last year (some of you might remember me whinging for 2 weeks solid)

I've never had any of em sept chicken pox, what a mad virus that is. I think it come from aliens

Some people do get them twice but its VERY rare. MOST people get it and then they're immune.
