Should we allow deletion / moderation of posts ???

Im a moderator on the mixmag.net message board and I have to say - yes.

 

I have luckily only had to delete a topic once or twice, usually a stern public warning to the offenders suffices.

 

Problems never really arise from regular users, especially when they have all met up, but you do get 'crashed' by occasional dickheads from other boards etc wanting to cause a problem.

 

its always good to have the power to delete and edit, and hopefully never have to use it

i also think yes.

 

however i think the problem at the moment, is that members are beggining to think that moderators are higher when infact everyone on this site are equal!

 

without moderators i dont think the site would run as smoothly as it does!

I have to say yes here, i think we need to watch that non of our posts could potentially offend someone. The last thing we need is new members being put off from posting cos they feel they are gonna be laughed at or discriminated against.

Well if someone comes on board,let's say his name's BoB or something and posts a message akin to

'Hey flakey,Your a complete and utter arsehole etc etc,'and then continues along the vein of barnyard animals,then I would hope It would'nt be sitting up here for all the world to see.

Its plainly not true!

yep - agreed - moderation stays - just thought I'd pose the question as most rules out there I feel are to be broken ?!
