OK last year we had the love weekend in newcastle, love parade was cancelled by newcastle council

 

The year before we have the first Uk loveparade in Leeeds - which was wicked - who went?

 

And this year we get..........sod all, nowt - not even a kick up the arse!

 

It should be every year - like glastonberry (however its spelt)

 

Any thoughts?

Future of Berlin Love Parade in doubt

 

The organisers of Berlin's Love Parade say this year's event may have been the last.

 

Reports of waning attendance have caused sponsors to reconsider whether they still want to be part of the event, the Berliner Morgenpost reports.

 

"On Saturday, I was still optimistic there would be a Love Parade next year," Fabian Lenz, head of Love Parade GmbH, said about Sunday's event.

 

"But not now."

 

Estimations put the number of people who attended the event in Berlin's city centre between 500,000 and 750,000.

 

"These negative headlines about attendance also get read by our sponsors," Lenz said.

 

Private RTL2 television has already withdrawn its sponsorship.

 

Lenz thinks the reasons behind the low turnout, like terrorist threats and bad weather, were under-reported.

 

He also fears profits from official Love Parade music will go down by as much as 20% because of illegal CD copies.

 

The annual parade costs about 1.5 million euro (£960,000).

 

A decision on whether to continue the event will be made by the end of the year.
