Was Gleave - Gleave Dobbin? If so he is ace, what did you all think?

He lives about 20mins from me and he is massive over here, hes been on the seen for years but is finally getting some exposure in mainland Uk. He has bi-monthly residency at turnmills, is doing the serious tour, played passion a few times and garlands.

He was the man behind Coast2Coast "Home" if anyone remembers that track.

i think its the same guy as andy was saying he was big in irland

Yeah... to be honest i thought he was awful unsure.gif

I didn't think he was awful. But his set had a bit of an "anthems" feel to it ... very play-safe and directionless...

A lot of tunes that were "reasonable" or even "very very good" in themselves, but not very varied in style. Also some of the tracks were far too minimal considering he pretty much let them play to the end.

So I'd say it was a triumph of decent-enough tunes over actual DJing skill. I'm sure he could have been better if he had been a bit more ambitious/daring with his track selection!

^ BTW don't get me wrong Liam ... he did play a few absolute crackers!

I wish I had a tracklisting for his set so I could find out what some of the tracks were called ... he played some really chunky techy stuff that was right up my street.

Dont worry Andy, im not his agent lol! Just wanted to hear how it went for him.

Although he did play a few corkers, they were all well known BIG tunes. i think i just didnt like 90% of what he played. it was really boring.
