having trouble shrinking a jpeg file from my camera- normally I get the option to open with microsoft photo editor and then can change the file size when choosing save as options...

 

for whatever reason I can only open it with windows pictures and fax viewer...

 

it's a good photo of sparky comatose from last wednesday...

yeah, you have windows xp (or leech as i fondly call it ) by the sounds of it

 

right clickt he file - select 'open with ->' then find the program you want to open it with (it should be listed)

that's the problem- I can't find photo editor and can't compress the file in windows paint and fax viewer...

is it not listed in the start menu either?

 

whats changed on your system to stop giving you this option?

You can use Paint to do this.

 

Riight click the jpeg icon and select 'edit'

 

Use the Stretch/Skew in the 'image' drop down box
