November 10, 200222 yr CTW Members Yeah, the point of smears it to check for pre-cancerous cells but that isnt my point, what i and the article was sayin that repeated "battering" that there would be more risk for the cancerous cells to occur, unfortunately a smear cant prevent this happening, it can only detect them once theyre there!! And smears should be done every 5 years from when u start havin sex to be safe!!
