Big_EE won't go to any event that takes place in any sort of exhibition centre, stadium or sports hall. That involves entrance funnels, over enthusiastic or heavyhanded bouncers. That has organisers who toady to plod, or that treats it's customers like sheep.

 

Must admit, up until last Saturday I was with you on this one - really didnt have fun at the larger events at all as they were too much hassle and too expensive - but last sat was worth it due to the huge amount of peeps we met, really was quality.

 

agree with you about sheep though - was a tad dangerous at times too !

Global Gathering was amazing though, my highlight of the year.

Raving to Lisa Pin-Up at 7.00am almost full daylight.

Can't be beaten.

Don't get me wrong, Well organised out door events/ large format events multi tented multi stage events like Glastonbury / GG , ect, are fine.

 

Events in the open air are fine. Events in purpose built halls are fine. Events in holiday villages are fine.

 

It's the sports hall & and exhibition centres i object too. They lose so much atmosphere. And allow for so much laziness on behalf of the promoters. Throw a fe lasers out, don't need to spend much money, pack as many people in as possible and rake in the profits!!

 

But I still maintain you just can't get the true intimate club like atmosphere in anything other than a club. Wether that's a tiny venue like the soundshaft, or a bigger venue like the fridge. Teisto was no doubt wicked at NEC, how much better would he have been at heaven, fabric, or pacha!!

 

PS James... did you read the Serious, and Kinky Malinky posts on Past Events...we had some great meet ups down here in london town this weekend too!!
